I am… a Beyonce fan

Here’s Beyonce’s brand new L’Oreal ad for holiday 2009. Very Pretty.

She talks like this cuz she can back it up. At least Billboard thinks so. And they’re honoring Beyonce Knowles with the Woman of the Year Award at the 2009 Billboard Women In Music Event on Oct. 2nd in NYC:

“Beyoncé is multi-platnium artist and a multi-talented woman who clearly embodies the qualities of excellence and achievement that the Billboard Woman Of The Year Award was created to honor,” said Bill Werde, Billboard’s Editorial Director, about Beyoncé, who is the only performer in the 51-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 to top the chart for 10 weeks or more with a group and as a solo artist. “She has not only influenced pop culture with her hit songs and signature dance moves, but has inspired women everywhere with her unique style, buisness savvy and dedication to charitable causes.”

The Billboard Women in Music Event celebrates the most powerful and talented women in the music business and is also held in conjunction with the Women In Music Power Players List issue, which recognizes the top female music executives who are leading the industry with their artistic and business vision.

The honor, given to a female recording artist that has inspired the music business with her success, leadership and new ideas, will be awarded to the singer for her accomplishments over the past 12 months.

Well it’s about that time again. Beyonce’s been spotted on vacation.  She’s yachting off the coast of Croatia and showing off her ridiculous bikini bod:

But I see her bodyguard is doubling as her jet ski driver.  Fun times.  And hubby Jay-Z  is indeed her vacation buddy:

Who all of a sudden hates the flashing lights.

Recently, Brooke Hogan was doing an interview on Sirius radio and decided to bash a bunch of people, namely Heidi Montag, Cassie and Beyoncé.  I understand Heidi Montag (does anyone actually like her?) and she ripped into Cassie for her nude photo scandal, but what on earth did Beyoncé do to get all the hate? Well, Brooke explained why she’s not too fond of Queen B.

She says on the radio, “She needs to go sit down and make some babies and chill. She’s talented, don’t get me wrong, she’s talented but just give it a break.”

Um…okay. Someone’s obviously bitter that her career comes no where near as successful as Beyoncé’s been. All three of the people she decided to insult are more famous and probably even liked more than Brooke anyway, so she needs to go sit down. Plus, Beyoncé has plenty of years behind her. If she wants babies she’s got a little more time. Even then, people need to stop saying that kind of thing. It’s ridiculous.

In other, more cheery news, Beyonce’s movie Obsessed was the top movie rental this week! The movie has been doing pretty well all around. When it was released in theatres, it was the #1 in the box office that week, raking in $70 million in the theatre in total.

Beyoncé is famous for her beautiful, womanly curves and she recently spoke about it in an interview. She says that she goes through different stages when it comes to her weight. Sometimes she’s curvier than she’d like in certain parts of her body. 

She explains, “I guess my butt is natural. But I go through stages like every woman. I like being curvy but sometimes I get curvy in the wrong places. After New Year I do stairs – they are the best thing for butt cheeks. Every January I’ll start working out. I’ll do that for three months and then stop again!”

Though she is often placed in those “Hollywood’s Sexiest” lists, Queen B says she’s not a fan of it. She says, “Some people think one thing is beautiful, some think another is. When people say that I am ‘most beautiful’ or ‘most sexy’, it bothers me.

She continues on “I like fashion and I like to look good. I like to try at least, but everyone has their own opinion.”

Well, she seems pretty happy with her weight and body, which is the most important thing. It’s funny that she doesn’t like being put on those lists because she is one hot mama!  I see her point though, everyone sees beauty as something different.

I think this is one of the most fab looks I’ve seen for Solo.  The new short cut makes her makeup, skin, and clothes all pop! Bey looked wonderful as well!

Leon Desmond Barrett has been accused of sending death threats to hip-hop couple Jay-Z and Beyonce. He has been ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation by a judge.

Homeboy is alleged to have penned more than a dozen letters between December 2006 and April 2009 to the celebrity duo, and to other stars, including former NFL football star, Jerome Bettis. Barrett, 37, from Detroit, Michigan was also ordered by U.S. Magistrate Judge R. Steven Whalen not to possess guns or other dangerous weapons and not to communicate with potential victims in the case when he appeared in court in Detroit on Wednesday.

Beyoncé is tied with Lady Gaga for the most nominations at MTV 2009 Video Music Awardas with 9 of them!! Man does she ever deserve it! Her song “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” has become a huge hit.

Bey was pretty proud of herself, “I’m excited and honored to be tied for most nominated for the VMAs. I’ve been blessed this year to have ‘Single Ladies’ become a video people really connected with and responded to. I’ve spent so much time watching all the great versions people created all around the world. It’s beautiful to feel you touch people and bring a song to life with a video,” said Beyonce.
